Breaking Dawn Summary of the Book

The story Breaking Down is divided into three invidual books. During part 1 we read about Bella’s wedding and marriage to Edward. They spend their honeymoon on a remote island near the coast of Brazil. During their stay, Bella’s wish comes true when she and Edward make love. Shortly after, Bella becomes aware of her pregnancy when she misses a period. She contacts Carlisle who confirms her suspicions, the couple make plans to return soon after. The fetus develops rapidly, an occurrence that prompts Edward to request she gets an abortion. Unperturbed, Bella resists his pleas and contacts her friend Rosalie, who has wanted children for a long time.

Part two is written from Jacob Black’s perspective, it documents the pregnancy of Bella right through to the birth of her child. The werewolves in the novel are unsure of the child and fear of the danger it poses prompts them to make plans to kill Bella to prevent it’s birth. Naturally, Jacob is strongly opposed to this and revolts. He cuts all ties to the pack and forms his own alongside Leah Clearwater and Seth. Four weeks after conception Bella gives violent birth to the child. In the process she loses a great deal of blood and suffers multiple broken bones. To save her life Edward is forced to embrace and turn her into a vampire. Immediately after the birth Jacob imprints the newborn baby girl Renesmee.

The final part of Breaking Dawn reverts back to Bella’s view point, continuing her story as an excited Vampire who enjoys all the abilities it brings. Irina, another Vampire mistakenly identifies the baby; she believes Renesmee is an “immortal child, one that has been changed to a Vampire. An act the Volturi outlawed previously. Irina informs the Volturi of the act, they then decide to destroy the Cullens and baby Renesmee based on Irina’s allegations. To prove their innocence and save the life of their baby daughter the Cullens gather vampires to stand up as witnesses and help prove to the Volturi the child isn’t an immortal child. The ploy works, the Volturi realize they have been lied to by Irina and immediately sentence her to execution for the mistake. She is killed shortly after. Despite the news of the childs true nature being revealed they are still unsure as to the threat the childs existence brings to the secret lives of vampires. Soon after, the arrival of Jasper and Alice, who too had a human-vampire child return. They prove the child presents no threat with Nahuel, their 150 year old crossbreed son. The Volturi see the truth in these words and promptly leave, safe in the knowledge that vampire-human crossbreeds can co-exist without bringing any undue attention on the vampire’s existence. Bella, Edward and their daughter Renesmee return safely to their home.

Breaking dawn is split 3 parts in part 1 bella and edward tie the knot and then they go to a honeymoon to a remote island and they make love and then bell is looking through her bag and finds some tampos and realizes she missed her period and she calls carlise and she confirms her concence she is pregnet but when she tells edward he goes into a state of shock lik he is lik paralyzed so they immidetlt come home and the baby is super strong and was growing rapidly andr and she starts brekin bellas ribs and stuff then in part 2 the baby gets bigger and bigger and bellas health starts deterirating and soo they give the bella blood to drink and that makes the baby happy and soo she keeps drinkin it and then there is lik a very gory scene were lik bella is tryin to walk and a fountain of blood lik comes out of her mouth and she goes in to labor witch is very graphic and then edward has to change her into a vampire and bella was cringing and she had a burnin sensation in her whole body and then it was over and she imortal and then her and edward ahd a romantic make out sesion in front of everybody and then in part 3 it was bellas unoffical 19th bday so edward got her a car and alice got them a cottage in the woods and then when they got to the cottage they got some alone time and the cullens love watched the baby and they made love once again for hours continusly and then in the morning emmit cracked some jokes and then bella went out for her first hunt and then she smelled some hunters and was able to constrain herself and everybody was amazed so then she killed a mountain lion and all of her clothes were ripped up then the voltori wanted to kill the baby because they thought she was a threat but the explained that she wasnt a threat also jacob im printed on the baby and everything was happily ever after

first of all, imprinting from a warewolf is like commiting yourself to them and never letting go. i figured this out by rereading some of the books carefully. i also think edward is ok with jake imprinting on renesmee because he never got to marry bella and bella considers him to be her best friend and edward is ok with it.

Breaking Dawn could use some rewrites in my opinion, the character of Jacob is totally ruined. I know that Edward is the love of Bella’s life but she admitted that she loves Jake too. The triangle should have continued on because Bella has done a great job of using both Edward and Jake. I wish the book would have ended more like this: After being rejected by Edward because of his fear of hurting her again, Bella feeling hurt and desperate, drives to talk to Jake. She drags a bottle of wine with her and drinks it the whole way there. Her and Jake “talk” and we don’t know exactly what occured. She wakes up the next morning in bed beside Edward not knowing how she got there or what happened the night before. A few days pass and after Bella provides a little hot persuasion, Edward decides to resume sex with Bella and they spend many unforgettable nights together. Meanwhile, Jake who wants to talk to Bella about their night, realizes Bella does not remember what happened. Jake gets angry and decides to stay away from Bella for good. Bella is confused and hurt by Jakes abandonment, she loves Jake and wants him to be a part of her life. As days go by Bella becomes ill and realizes she’s pregnant. Since she doesn’t remember her and Jakes night, she believes the child is her husbands. Bella gets more and more ill as her pregnancy progresses. Edward believes the child is making her sick. Edward wants the child destroyed because its killing Bella, but Bella disagrees and will go to any length to protect “their” child. When word gets to Jake that Bella is sick, he rushes to be with her. He doesn’t question the child’s paternity as he assumes its Edwards since the pregnancy is making Bella so sick. Jakes hates the baby because he believes that its killing Bella. He and Edward devise a plan to kill the baby but then Edward changes his mind after hearing the thoughts of the child. Jake feels betrayed by Edward and plans to attack the Cullens as he believes they are responsible for Bellas illness. As he and the wolf pack prepare for war against the Cullens, Bellas health takes a turn for the worse and she is near death. While she is fighting for her life, Bella remembers what happened between her and Jake. She then realizes that the child she is carrying actually could be Jakes. Bella, clinging to life by a thread, tells Edward that she remembers sleeping with Jake months ago. She apologizes and assures Edward that she loves him more and wants to be with him. Edward then realizes the possibility that the child Bella is carrying may be Jakes, but he loves Bella too much to be angry with her, so he blames Jake. Meanwhile, Bella reaches out to Jake. She tells him that she remembers their night and tells him that she may by carrying his child. She tells him that Edward knows the truth about that night and that he still loves her. She tells him that although she loves him she knows that her destiny is with Edward. Jake is angry but manages to stay in control as he now knows that Bella could be having his child. Edward sets his plan to kill Jake in motion, but his plan is interrupted when Bella takes a turn for the worse. In a desperate attempt to save Bella and the baby, Edward injects her with his venom but not before Dr. Carlisle induces Bella into a coma in the hopes of finding a solution. He then delivers Bella’s daughter, Reneesma. The baby is strong and survives, now being half human and half vampire, but Bella remains comatose. Dr. Carlisle runs several test on Bella and the baby which reveal the baby’s true paternity as belonging to Jake and that it was a preexisting genetic condition that was awakened by her pregnancy that was making Bella sick. Upon hearing the truth about Bella’s condition and the child’s paternity, Edward is infuriated with Jake. He resumes his mission to destroy Jake for impregnanting Bella. We are then introduced to an unknown character who kidnaps Bella! Bella awakens as a vampire, chained in a dark room. She is hungry and weak and her thirst for blood is driving her to hallucinate. Bella’s kidnapping causes Edward to put his differences aside to team up with Jake and the wolf pack to find Bella, where is she…
