British actor Jamie Campbell-Bower has been cast to play the role of Caius, the leader of Volturi vampires in New Moon. Jamie Campbell-Bower is 20 year old and has appeared in Sweeney Todd and RockNRolla. He’s currently also in production on the remake of The Prisoner series where he plays alongside Jim Caviezeland Sir Ian McKellan.
Jamie Campbell-Bower first revealed the news of having been cast to play in New Moon to British BBC and mentioned that shooting on New Moon has already started and he’ll be joining the rest of the cast in June to film Caius’ parts. He also mentioned he knew who else has been cast to play in New Moon, but he could not release that information.
Caius is the leader of Italian Volturi vampires, a coven that becomes a threat to Edward Cullen and Bella Swan. Dakota Fanning who plays Jane, a vampire with psychic abilities is also a member of the Volturi gang.
This makes for a very exciting cast – such a mixture of backgrounds. Jamie Campbell-Bower is joining another fellow Brit Robert Pattinson who plays a leading role of Edward Cullen. Five native Americans were cast to play the werewolves. What an exciting mix. New Moon truly promises to be a phenomenal movie.
