Robert Pattinson who plays the role of vampire Edward Cullen in the Twilight Series is filming the movie Remember Me in New York and his presence in the city that never sleeps has many Twilight fans on alert. That causes mobs of crazy fans following Robert’s every step, often getting too close despite security personnel surrounding him. As fans were getting too franzied about seeing their favorite star it caused commotion and Robert Pattinson was hit by a taxi. It all went down just outside the Strands bookstore in Manhattan yesterday but apparently the story was blown out of proportions and even though hit by taxi, it was nothing serious and Robert Pattinson is perfectly fine.
Summit Entertainment, the production company behind the Twilight Saga movies released update on situation following Robbert Pattinson having been hit by a taxi cab. In their statement, Summit Entertainment representative said:
Robert Pattinson is fine. The reports are exaggerated, and the accident was not caused by fans. Production continues.
While Summit rep did not clarify what circumstances led to Robert Pattinson getting hit by a cab, some reports say that he was trying to run across the street to avoid crazy fans and got his hip clipped by a cab. The driver slammed his breaks as soon as the actor jumped in front of his car. There was no significant hit, just a small something to blow out of proportions by scandal hungry media. Summit Entertainment rep also confirmed that they will increase security around Robert Pattinson to avoid possible future situations.
So here – Robert Pattinson WAS hit by taxi in New York, but it was nothing like some reports would make you believe. He’s fine and unharmed.
