We all know that Twilight movie was a massive success, we all also know that Nikki Reed, Kristen Stewart and other cast members are busy filming New Moon in Vancouver, what we don’t know is that there is another movie – a secret one being filmed. Nikki Reed who plays Rosalie Hale in the Twilight saga has revealed that her brother Nathan who’s a student at UCLA is filming a documentary that will reveal all the ups and downs of the popularity bestowed on the Twilight actors they were hit with overnight. The film will be called The Glorification of Celebrities.
Along with some other Twilight cast members, The Glorification of Celebrities will feature Nikki Reed and Kristen Stewart talking about what it means to be a celebrity today and how it affects their lives. Nathan has been allegedly documenting the rise of the Twilight phenomenon from the beginning and his video recordings will show how a relatively unknown person becomes a front cover celebrity overnight.
The Glorification of Celebrities will not be strictly about Twilight stars. It will also have interviews with fans and will follow their experience as they follow their idols. Many of the Twilight stars are young teenagers. I can imagine the experience they are going through is life transforming. Each time they pop in a grocery store, they are exposed to magazines featuring their photographs and stories uncovering juicy details form their personal lives that are oftentimes nothing more than rumors. This who struggle with popularity, as well as the joys it brings will be documented by Nikki reed’s brother Nathan in The Glorification of Celebrities.
Would I pay to see it? I think I would be a little disappointed if I did. To me it screams as though Nathan was trying to get a ride on a Twilight train himself, as if looking for a chance to milk some of that cash cow into his own bucket. I have no doubt hardcore Twilight fans will go see the documentary or will buy the DVD if it’s released so it’s bound to be successful one way or another. Whether there will be any actual value to the material in The Glorification of Celebrities is questionable. We’ll just have to wait and see.
